Spontaneously we decided to bake a Pi Pie to commemorate Pi Day. What better way to celebrate than with a 'rounded' pie...3.14.16!
Thank you, Archimedes, for calculating the first Pi.
We can thank mathematician William Jones for the Pi symbol.
And we thank my Little Lamb for creating the most delicious Pi Pie!
This is how we apply math in daily life. There was plenty of measuring and fractions and multiplying and conversions and figuring; plus knowledge of depth, radius and volume was needed.
And the end product, after subtracting 4/8, was...well, somehow we got to zero.
