A Fair Day in 2015

Joining Like Mother, Like Daughter for some pretty, happy, funny and real times...
~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

We had a fun day at the fair this year, as we do every year!
This is the same fair my father took my siblings and I when we were children.

~ Birthday Bows ~

Butterfly and I worked together to decorate these gifts.

Simple, but thoughtful.  We used silk flowers that I had in my craft box.

The wired ribbon (love this stuff) was from last years clearance bin...stock up!

It was easy and makes the present really special...

...and you want to make the recipient feel special...

...because the recipient IS special!

~ Oakrose Girls Club ~ March 2013

Sadly, we have not made all the girls club meetings this year, as I could not commit to hosting the Rosebuds Girls Club any longer.  However, Butterfly was able to give another talk to the younger girls at the new Oakrose Girls Club!   This month, the talk was on the virtue Generosity and a Catechism lesson on the subject of the 4th Commandment and Obedience to parents.

As always...we start out with a social gathering...This month we celebrated St. Patrick's Day.

"GENEROSITY helps us to give of ourselves, and the things we have, to others who are in need.  It is acting unselfishly and cheerfully for the good of another.  A generous person thinks more of someone else's needs than his or her own.  Generosity is being concerned for others, even those you do not know.  It will ultimately lead to a love for all mankind and help establish peace in the world."

Little Lamb used the overcast stitch, while Butterfly used the invisible stitch.

Little Lamb wanted to make sure she wore some green...see it? (mostly pink with a spot of green).

We continue to be thankful for the mothers & daughters of this group; for the many opportunities to learn leadership skills and form Christian Virtues...Creating Friendships and Sodality.
And a HUGE THANK YOU to our coordinators and hostess!!

~ Final Rosebuds ~

Our final Rosebud meeting ended this past May.
We had the annual May Crowning ~ so lovely...

Followed by a talk on a virtue and lesson in the Catechism.  Then the girls had a wonderful time creating these versatile bows

Some girls used them in their hair...or to transform their flip flops ~ very cute.

Little Lamb made several...in several different colors.

It was another wonderful year!  Deo gratias!

Creating a delicious Parfait ~ when Mommies aren't able

Many, many Years ago, I coordinated the Little Flowers Girl's Club - hosting it in my home and then in my parish - as the group size grew and grew and then on to include both the Little Flowers Girls Club and Blue Knights Boys Club.
It was a lot of fun and very worthwhile...but, it took lots of time... and lots of planning and...commitment.

I'm thankful for the Rosebuds, and Lorelei and the families that commit...

These girls are learning Leadership skills and forming Christian Virtues ~
