Tea ~ a Favorite Pastime

 

I LOVE tea...basically everyday around Three O'clock my children and I break from our day and enjoy a cup of tea .

Last year my neighbor brought over a tea that I had never tried before...it was indeed yummy.

When gathering with friends, there is always tea at hand...

...takes on a new look!

Butterfly put this dandy meal together:

CEREAL SANDWICH:
Whole wheat bread
Peanut Butter
Strawberry Jam
Apple Dapples Cereal

and a hard boiled egg on the side for that extra protein needed for teens...

I had the same (minus the sandwich).  :o)

HAPPY ST. VALENTINE'S DAY to all...
It's pretty quiet for us this year since we have already begun the Lenten season.  Nothing like LAST YEAR.

However, as I was waiting in the car for my husband to return from picking up a few grocery items LAST WEEK...this falls on my lap:

smart (camera) phones - handy!

It was such a surprise and so sweet and thoughtful.  I was completely caught off guard.  One week early! 
The roses still look lovely today...

and the thought will still be lovely tomorrow...

I'm OK if my sweet-heart brings me home a BIG BOX of CHOCOLATES today...



but I won't hold my breath.  LOL.

My mother made this doll several years ago...she's sooo pretty.  I found that little wicker chair in a second-hand store for just a few cents; pretty perfect!

Our traditional Shrove Tuesday fare:  Pancakes,  they make my children HAPPY.
Butter makes them HAPPIER.

SUN BATHERS

Just moments before, Popcorn was lying in the sun, too!  (The sun wasn't moving that fast, she just moved herself into the shade.)  We still have frost in the morning...but the afternoons are wonderful!  Cool air, warm sun, which makes it perfect for gardening.

This room is one of our Lenten projects.  Organizing, purging simplifying, and cleaning will give us all much peace!

I love this day...it is very special to me. 

This morning we attended the Holy Mass at our parish and I was recalling how (just) last year we had celebrated the day at our Cathedral...

Conductor was serving as Episcopal Server that day.  (My how he has grown in a year - he looks so little in this picture!)

...This is a picture of one of my First Communion students from last years May Crowning...crowning Our Lady of Lourdes.

I decorate the side altar and the children bring bouquets of flowers...so sweet.

Actually, I'm definitely more of a tea drinker...but lately I've indulged in a couple specialty coffee drinks at my local coffee house....

Which is not, at all, my usual routine.

Dinner Fundraiser Event...on, of course, Candelmas.

(Which deserves a post of its own.)

 

Through all the preparations and busyness for the Dinner, the girls were keeping up with their embroidering - pretty, too.

Happy to report our deck is complete...and it provides much happiness and peace, set amongst our young olive trees.
