This year, Easter seems to be pretty quiet.  It feels as though I am missing something...

Maybe I just need to learn to be at peace with some quiet...?   Anyhow...

We have been busy with other plans...future plans.  Easter, after all, is a time of new beginnings, of hope and of new life.

There are signs of new life all around us.  Even in this terrible drought we are experiencing, there is still growth and new life.

It is time to make some Creamy Potato and Leek Soup...this makes everyone happy.

{funny}

Some bathroom beauty...if that is possible.  New curtains and fun way to display the unmentionables.

{real}

This is one sad chandelier.  It has been sitting and waiting to be hung in the girls bathroom for years.  Years!  One excuse after another..."I need to paint first...""I need to find the right hanging tool...""I'll have time this summer..."
Tomorrow...

Oh, yes!  One more real...scary-real...awaiting in my garden.  Time to trim back the overgrowth around the borders...

It was about 5 - 6 ft. long.  About the size when it changes from a reptile to a mammal!  This creature was enormous and vile.  Although, strangely beautiful with its color & pattern...blech!

And so, to not leave on an unpleasant note:

 Everyone was looking {pretty} beautiful and handsome all decked out in their finest while attending a friend's Pretend Quinceañera Gala...
 

 

All the young ladies were in dresses and all the young men were in ties...they looked magnificent in their grand and noble attire!

Very Elegant!

They even took a poll of how they were to dress:

Formal, Crazy Tacky Formal, Casual, Semi-Formal.

It was good to see them all dressed up and having such a blast!!!

They are all such amazing young people...with such virtue and good moral character!

Another one of the teen guests made the birthday cake!

I was SO impressed with the detail and taste, (yes, I tasted it...the mom's & some dad's hung out for a bit at the end of the eve)

that I asked her to make my First Holy Communion Class' cake!

My children have been very {happy} with our current art program!

Westies love to dig. They love to dig in, what else, dirt.

Lately, we have had rain.

Dirt + Rain = Dirty Westie...

Even though this makes him sneeze...my wonderful son brings me flowers from his garden.  I love that boy!

I saw these {pretty} Station of the Cross Candles over at JOYfilled Family...

 

I thought they would be perfect to use for our Lenten Devotions; and since I had some {pretty} votive candles left over from our

CANDELORA Dinner, I decided to set Little Lamb to play work...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I assured Little Lamb that they would dry clear...

 

 

I placed them on mirrors...which really gives them a {pretty] amazing illumination,

adding to our LIVING LENT, LOVING LENT experience.

This was one {happy} little girl!!

The Symphony can do that to a person, you know!?

 

We went with a group of our Home School friends...that can, also, make one {happy}.

A great time was had by all!

Upon first glance, this looks like just a sweet little pup, legs crossed real "lady-like" peacefully at rest...

But with closer observation,

sharp, pointy teeth.  This is not a smile.

you will see that disturbing her or disturbing what she has in the clutches of her teeth, would not be wise!

Instructions before the Holy Mass

 

This is {real}.  Conductor has loved to serve the Mass ever since he could walk...and officially when he was about 7 years old.  He loves to teach other boys to serve with reverence and attentiveness.   It comes from his heart.  It is {real}.

 

He serves both at our parish and as an Episcopal Server...

Serving the Archbishop at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass during Lent

Praying that you are finding peace and love...this Lent.

Such a pretty sunset evening for our Altar Server C A N D E L O R A

Dinner Fundraiser Event...on, of course, Candelmas.

(Which deserves a post of its own.)

 

Through all the preparations and busyness for the Dinner, the girls were keeping up with their embroidering - pretty, too.

Happy to report our deck is complete...and it provides much happiness and peace, set amongst our young olive trees.

Popcorn is at it again...doing what she loves best!  Funny, until she threw up dirt.  (yuck!)
